What is a Helpful Hour?

As the name suggests, it is a 60-minute webinar offering information and guidance on important hearing loss topics

What does a Helpful Hour session cover?

We currently offer three different free sessions. You’re welcome to join one, two, or all three – whatever works best for you.

The options are:

• How to get the most from your audiology appointment – How to prepare, what to expect, and how to get the most out of your appointment.
• Managing your healthcare and hearing loss – Discover how a little preparation can make a big difference and help your appointments run more smoothly.
• Your homelife, your hearing - Explore practical tips and solutions to help make life at home with hearing loss a little bit easier.

How the sessions work

• Each session is led by our friendly volunteers who understand hearing loss first-hand.
• All you need is an email address and a computer or tablet with internet access. After you register, we’ll email you a link to the webinar. When it’s time, just click the link in your email to join the session.
• Live captioning is available in every session, so you can read what the volunteers are saying, and British Sign Language (BSL) support can be arranged on request.
• After the session we’ll send you a series of information sheets that support the topics mentioned in the webinar.
