Over half of all our hearing dogs are trained thanks to gifts in Wills. A staggering one in three adults in the UK are estimated to be deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. Help us to support more people with a gift in your Will. Leaving a legacy is the greatest way to pass on your kindness to future generations of hearing dog puppies and the people they go on to help.

I've learned that everyone knows someone affected by deafness, and witnessed how the charity helps deaf people of all ages. A gift in my Will supports this wonderful work.

5 steps to leaving a gift in your Will

Leaving your legacy is easier than you might think. Follow these steps to give your gift of lasting change for deaf people:

  1. Request our free guide to Will-writing via post by calling 01844 348130 or emailing legacies@hearingdogs.org.uk
  2. Make a list of everything you own (called your ‘estate’), including property and investments, and decide who to name as executors – these are the people who will make sure your wishes are carried out.
  3. Decide who to include in your Will. Think about the people you love, and the causes that you care about – like Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Every single gift will have an impact and how you give your gift is entirely your choice.
  4. Use our free solicitor-checked Will-writing service via Farewill. You can do this online or talk to one of their specialists on the phone. If you’d rather speak to a solicitor face to face, the Law Society provides a free service to help you find a solicitor – you can also search for lawyers who use British Sign Language (BSL) or have a hearing loop.
  5. If you already have a Will and want to change it to include a gift to Hearing Dogs, talk to your solicitor about updating your Will, or complete a supporting document (called a ‘codicil’) and store it with your existing Will.

Thank you so much for considering leaving this most precious gift to people living with deafness and hearing loss in the UK.

Whatever you decide to do if you don’t have a Will yet, you can write one completely free of charge today.
