Website accessibility statement
At Hearing Dogs, we are committed to being accessible and inclusive across all areas of our work.
We believe that everyone should have an equivalent experience when using our website (www.hearingdogs.org.uk), and that all users should be able to access information or services easily and equitably.
Accessibility has underpinned every decision we have made in the design and build of this website, and it continues to guide decisions on design, useability, content and navigation. We consider aspects such as user journeys, page and content structure, fonts, colours, spacing, text size, headings, language, and that content can be accessed using a screen reader or other assistive technology.
We follow best practice guidelines on accessibility and work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard, and where possible its AAA standard.
We want to make sure there are no barriers to accessing content and information on our website, and we review this regularly. We use a combination of automated and manual checks on an ongoing basis and carry out a full accessibility check of the entire website every six months.
Known accessibility problems
There are a few things we are aware of which we aim to change or improve as soon as we can:
- We host some PDF documents that may not be fully accessible to screen readers
-
Our content currently does not have British Sign Language translations
