Episode 9:
Noah is a hearing dog!
Posted by Elizabeth Murphy
“He is not just my hearing dog, he is my teacher, my trusting friend, my inspiration, my colleague and the kindling that restarted the fires of my soul.
“He has brought so much laughter and happiness into my life. I wake up with his antics and end up giggling like a school girl all day!
“At home, Noah alerts me to the doorbell and all the kitchen alarms. However, since long before I left the service, the approach of bedtime has been the most stressful time of my day. In my sleep, I relive the nightmares of yesteryears with a vengeance.
“After a lifetime of not being able to sleep, I am now experiencing blessed, normal sleep. At all times during the night, Noah maintains contact with me, which brings great relief to me.
“He reacts to the slightest sound alerts without making any noise. This is exactly in tune with my needs as I find loud noises extremely painful.
“I have come to love the little rascal dearly. My relationship with Noah has now changed my mind about relationships with people. I now not only feel receptive to a relationship but also welcome it.
“I have no idea where I would be or what I would be doing now if Noah had not made his entry into my life. He has taught me to love again and he has taught me to live again.
If I could but speak a thousand languages, I would be writing here a thousand lines of thank you for the world to see. Thank you so much.”
Wow, what a beautiful team Noah and Stephen make! Thanks to your support as his sponsor, our clever Cocker Spaniel is not only connecting Stephen to important sounds – he is connecting him with life.
It would be wonderful if you’d consider sponsoring another puppy-in-training but, whatever you decide, thank you so much for being Noah’s sponsor.
Hello, I’m Elizabeth and I work in the Sponsor a Puppy team. I am very lucky to get to know lots of the adorable pups who are training to be life-changing hearing dogs – they really are amazing!
