Sponsor Neville: A cheeky and playful pup

It’s time to meet Neville! Attracting awws with his adorable chunky paws, this cuddlesome chap finds fun wherever he goes. Bounding joyfully into every day, Neville approaches life with his glass half full. He may only be little, but our positive puppy has everything he needs to become a deaf person’s life-changing companion.

Loveable Neville has been settling into life with his Volunteer Puppy Trainer, Alex. And as a sociable boy, he’s enjoying all the fuss he’s getting from the younger members of his volunteer family. However, this cheeky boy is sometimes a bit too excited for playtime…

“Neville can be a little bit of a monkey,” shared Alex. “When we first brought him home, he would run full speed and divebomb onto the sofa, being an absolute goofball!” Well Neville, we don’t know about jumping on the sofa, but it’s a promising sign for learning your alarm clock alert!

One pawprint at a time, this beautiful boy is beginning puppy school and is ready to learn new skills. One day, he’ll bring safety, comfort and companionship to his future deaf partner.

Which adorable antics will Neville get up to next? How many friends will he make at puppy school? And which deaf person will he grow up to support? Sponsor Neville today to find out!

When my wife passed away in 2007, I became isolated and depressed. I was also very worried about not hearing the smoke or fire alarm. I often set the portable timer to remind me about appointments and cooking. Arya tells me about them by nudging me with her nose. She once woke me up when the fire alarm went off! Arya has opened up a whole new world to me.

 Neville learns to stay cool

At this young age, it’s totally normal for a puppy to want to greet everyone they encounter. In fact, having the confidence to say hello to new people is an important part of a hearing dog’s role! However, it’s important for Neville to learn that not everyone wants to meet him. So, with lots of fuss and treats from his trainers, our little pup is already learning that approaching someone calmly has its rewards!
