Sponsor Ginny: A bouncy and playful pal

Is it a bunny rabbit? Is it a teddy bear? No… it’s Ginny! With a spring in her step and a wiggle of her tail, this fluffy and fun Miniature Poodle wakes up excited for each new day. And excitingly, she’s starting puppy school to become an amazing companion for a deaf person.

Saying hello to every person and dog who comes her way, it’s safe to say this little pup isn’t short on confidence. As a natural ‘people puppy’, Ginny has already formed a fantastic bond with her Volunteer Puppy Trainer, Sally, who is getting to know her adorable antics…

“Ginny makes me laugh all the time – she bounces about like a little lamb,” explained Sally. “I’m trying to teach her to tidy her toys away, but once she gets them out, she likes to sit in the toy basket! She’s a little diva and a sweetheart.” Now Ginny, you may look like a cuddly toy but you don’t belong in a toy basket!

Bringing laughter to everyone she meets, our friendly girl is as unique as her coat is curly. In the future, her perfect Ginny-ness will transform her deaf partner’s life.

How many friends will Ginny make at puppy school? Can she break the world record for ‘bounciest Poodle’? And which deaf person will she grow up to support? Sponsor Ginny today to find out!

When my wife passed away in 2007, I became isolated and depressed. I was also very worried about not hearing the smoke or fire alarm. I often set the portable timer to remind me about appointments and cooking. Arya tells me about them by nudging me with her nose. She once woke me up when the fire alarm went off! Arya has opened up a whole new world to me.

How your puppy sponsorship will help

You'll help a puppy become a life-changing hearing dog. They'll stop a deaf person feeling isolated and alone, and alert them to sounds they can't hear including the doorbell and the fire alarm.

Ginny prepares for the groomers

When you’re a young puppy, every new experience can take some getting used to. To prepare Ginny for visits to the groomers when she’s older, she’s been practising having ‘introductory’ grooming sessions – these involve Ginny having short visits to the groomers where she can sniff and explore the environment at her own pace, and experience just a small trim of the fur on her face. With practise, we’re sure Ginny will feel confident and relaxed during any future puppy pampering!
