At Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, we're on a mission: we want to see a time when no deaf person feels alone.

This is why we train dogs to help deaf people. Our amazing hearing dogs offer practical support, by alerting deaf people to important sounds, but as importantly they offer constant companionship. Deaf people can feel isolated or anxious: a hearing dog can help them to leave loneliness behind and reconnect with friends, family, community... with life.

Making a difference

It's well known that the charity sector attracts kind-hearted and compassionate people, who want to make a difference to other people's lives. These are the people you'll find at Hearing Dogs, who really do believe that "we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." Perhaps you do too.

Beautiful surroundings

Our headquarters are in rural Buckinghamshire and Yorkshire. They are both in beautiful countryside locations, with the Buckinghamshire site in particular offering stunning scenery. It's a group of listed barn conversions, nestled in the Chiltern Hills area of outstanding natural beauty, surrounded by fields, hills and woodland. There's no shortage of fresh air and great dog walks nearby! It's also where we have lots of fun events, and where we recently opened our Grange Restaurant and Gift Shop which has been incredibly popular.

Working with amazing dogs

Our trainers are living the dream: they've always known they wanted to work with dogs, and have pursued this as a career from an early age. However, everyone gets to join in the dog-related fun! This is because we have dogs in every office, some of them demo dogs, others applicant assessment dogs, others at various stages in their training. What was that? A little nudge from a puppy that wants its ears played with? Or some tickle-tums? Oh, go on then, the spreadsheet can wait five minutes...
