This month in training: May 2026

From a special first with Aston as he tried on a training jacket, to taking on the busses with Taylor and practicing alerting to the alarm clock with Pickles, our pups have had a busy month.

1. Kasper is off to the big city

Exploring London and taking in the sights, Kasper did a fantastic job on public transport and navigating the busier streets.

He took it all in his stride and kept his focus on his volunteer trainer all the way through!

Well done Team Kasper.

2. An ear-flapping good puppy class

In the second stage of his training, Aston was one proud pup as he got to try on a training jacket!

When Aston moves into the next stage of his training, he'll be wearing his jacket out and about in public spaces.

3. Jinx is checking out the shops

Our clever Labrador has just started exploring public places in the third stage of his hearing dog training and did a super job keeping his focus on his volunteer trainer.

He even spent some time working on his 'Sit' and 'Wait' in his new training jacket as everyone passed by with their shopping.

4. Fabulous Flapjack is going to be sound support dog

From adorable puppy to a very clever boy, Flapjack has passed his assessment to become an incredible sound support dog.

Our sound support dogs alert their deaf partner to important & life-saving sounds within the home, but don't accompany them to public places like hearing dogs do.

Congratulations Team Flapjack!

5. Taylor takes on the bus

Waiting patiently isn't always easy, but Taylor did a terrific job waiting with her volunteer at the bus stop, showing off her 'Down' and keeping her focus on her volunteer.

Well done Taylor!

6. What a wake-up call

Clever Pickles has been doing a brilliant job learning how to alert his future deaf partner to important sounds, like the alarm clock and fire siren, in the final stage of his hearing dog training.

Here he is showing off the difference in our alerts.

Well done Team Pickles!
