In these early stages of training, Potter is learning the key skills he’ll need on his journey to becoming a life-changing hearing dog. His trainers are helping him explore his senses and build confidence as he experiences the world around him.

An important part of Potter’s training is being gently introduced to unusual objects and textures, so that they soon feel completely normal. Let’s see how he got on at puppy class, where he was encouraged to walk over a platform.

With plenty of positive encouragement and some very tasty treats along the way, Potter took the platform in his stride. New experiences can potentially feel daunting for a young pup, but through reward-based training, Potter is learning that trying new things can be fun and exciting!

When he’s not busy exploring at puppy class, Potter enjoys relaxing and pottering around his home. His lovely volunteers also care for horses, and Potter has discovered that a pile of hay makes the perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by.
