Welcome back to Frankie's puppy pen!

So, what has been going on in the world of Frankie?

The first stage of Frankie's training is focused on teaching him the skills to be a happy, confident and well-behaved puppy. With the help of Sally, his Volunteer Dog Trainer, he has already started learning how to respond to basic cues, such as ‘wait’.

What a polite pup!

It is important that Frankie feels confident responding to basic cues as they will provide a foundation for the rest of his hearing dog training. For example, Frankie may be asked to sit and wait in various situations, such as at the supermarket checkout, before crossing a road, or even just at home before mealtimes.

For doing such a lovely 'wait', Frankie is rewarded with a chew treat…

It’s time for some games! Regular playtime is an important part of Frankie’s training. Learning through play is a great source of mental enrichment and helps Frankie to build his social skills, all whilst having fun at the same time!

Whether he is playing a game of hide and seek…
