Home How you can help Volunteer Become a volunteer dog trainer Eligibility check Are you over 18? All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Yes No Do you work more than 20 hours per week? Our dogs need a lot of time and attention, so we can't accept applications from people who work more than this. Yes No Is your garden safe, secure and private? Dogs require direct access to a safe and securely enclosed private garden for play, training and toileting. Yes No Do you have more than 2 pet dogs? Our dogs need a lot of individual attention, so we can't accept applications from homes with more than 2 dogs already. Yes No Do you have any dogs under 12 months old? We can't place dogs in homes with other dogs that are younger than 12 months old. Yes No Do you have a driver's licence and 24-hour access to your own vehicle? You must have at least one driver in the household. Access to a vehicle is required to attend training classes and in the case of an emergency. Yes No Do you have any children under 12 months of age at home? This includes children who regularly visit you. We can't place dogs in homes with babies. Yes No Do you have the ability, stamina and mobility to manage an active dog? Dogs need daily exercise for their health and wellbeing. Our training also requires volunteers to have a good level of fitness. Yes No Have you or anyone in your household ever been convicted under The Animal Welfare Act 2006, or been convicted of cruelty towards an animal, or had any order preventing you from owning or having an animal in your household? We won't place dogs in households that could be unsafe. Yes No Sorry, this role isn’t suitable for you. Based on your answers, this role isn’t the right fit for you at this time.
