This month in training: September 2026

From new members to super soundwork, so much training has been going on behind the scenes. We say a big hello to gorgeous Gus, Leo takes his new training jacket for a spin, and Gamble is showing us how he alerts to the doorbell.

1. Introducing our newest recruit

Everyone, say hello to gorgeous Gus!

Gus is getting ready to take the first steps on his training journey to become a life-changing hearing dog.

First things first, getting settled into his new home with his Volunteer Dog Trainer for lots of exploring, cuddles, and fun!

2. Leo is taking his jacket out for a spin

In the third stage of his hearing dog training, Leo has taken his first trip out in his burgundy training jacket to explore the busy places he might visit with his future deaf partner.

B&Q was the perfect spot for Leo and he showed off her perfect 'Sit' and 'Down', kept his focus on his Volunteer Dog Trainer, and was happy to stroll alongside the large trolley.

It's the first of many trips as part of the third stage of Leo's hearing dog training and we're so proud of how well he's done.

Well done Team Leo!

3. Fantastic news for Flynn

Flynn is celebrating in style with a trip to the beach!

Our clever boy is heading into the final stage of his training after passing his Puppy 3 Star.

This is where he’ll start his soundwork training and learn how to alert his future deaf partner to important, and potentially life-saving, sounds, like the doorbell and smoke alarm.

Congratulations Team Flynn!

4. All aboard with Kasper

Clever Kasper has taken his first trip on the train as part of the third stage of his hearing dog training.

After waiting patiently on the platform to watch the trains go by, Kasper and his Volunteer Dog Trainer went aboard.

Not fazed by the unusual movements, smells, or sounds, Kasper took it all in his stride!

5. What a good boy Gamble is!

Clever Labrador, Gamble, has been training how to alert to different sounds in the home, including the doorbell, as part of the final stages of his hearing dog training.

After recently passing his final training assessment, we just know he's going to make the world of different to his deaf partner.

Great job Team Gamble!

6. A clean-up puppy class

A big round of applause for confident pups Amber and Gigi!

The hoover can be a bit scary for some, but with lots of treats and praise, Amber and Gigi discover there's nothing to be worried about.

The girls put into practice laying down beside the hoover which is important for when they start their soundwork training and will need to alert their future deaf partner to important sounds, even when the housework is happening.
