This month in training: June 2026

There’s a lot to celebrate! Mowgli has passed his final assessment, Astrid is taking her new training jacket out for a spin, and Jazzy took his first trip on the bus. Well done to all our lovely pups and their teams!

1. Aston is showing off his settle

Aston showed off his lovely settle at a garden centre café.

Garden centres are the perfect place for our dogs to visit in their early training, as they're quiet and relaxed environments with lots of interesting new sights, smells and sounds.

2. Marvellous news for Mowgli

Our clever Labrador is going to change a deaf person's life after passing his final assessment.

Mowgli has grown from a cheeky pup to a wonderful life-changer & has been such a joy to train. We're so proud of Team Mowgli!

3. A spot of shopping for Astrid

Adorable Astrid is getting used to wearing her burgundy training jacket after passing the second stage of her hearing dog training.

Astrid will now gain experience in the different public places she might  visit with her future deaf partner, as well as getting ready for her first trip on public transport.

4. Congratulation clever Kooper

Our clever cockapoo has passed the third stage of his hearing dog training - the Puppy 3 Star.

He's been busy exploring public places and next will learn how to alert his future deaf partner to important sounds.

5. It’s bus stops and train stations for Jazzy

Hearing dog in training, Jazzy, had his first trip on the bus.

His future deaf partner might use public transport, so it's important Jazzy is comfortable with all the sounds and unusual movements.

With lots of treats and chin rubs along the way, Jazzy did brilliantly!

6. Practice makes perfect for Jerry

Jerry is in the final stages of his hearing dog training, where he's been learning how to alert to important, and potentially life-saving, sounds.

Made up of two parts, the nudge and the alert, Jerry is slowly putting the two together to alert his volunteer to the smoke alarm.

The danger alert is different and instead of leading to the source of the sound, and potential hazards, Jerry will drop down to indicate danger.

It doesn't take long for Jerry to get his alert right and with a bit more practice, he'll master it in no time.
