This month in training: July 2026

A month of superstars with our pups doing so well in their training. Dumble has passed the very first stage of his training, Jazzy has taken his first trip into town, and Forest is ready to take on the shops.

1. Dumble has a reason to celebrate

Our clever cockapoo has passed the first stage of his hearing dog training - the Puppy 1 Star.

Dumble has already mastered his 'Sit' and is ready to build on his impulse control and recall as he heads into the next stage of his training.

2. All aboard

Ernie has been doing an excellent job in the third stage of his hearing dog training exploring different types of public transport.

With unusual sounds, sights, and movement it's important Ernie feel confident in case his future deaf partner uses the train.

3. A round of applause for Preston

From a snoozy pup to a keen bean, Preston has reached a milestone and passed the second stage of his training - the Puppy 2 Star.

This means Preston is now the proud owner of his own burgundy training jacket and has already taken it for a spin as he starts exploring busier public places he might visit with his future deaf partner.

4. The perfect shopping companion

Hearing dog in training, Forest, has been exploring the busy public places he might visit with his future deaf partner and is doing a super job on the high-street.

Being confident around exciting smells, strange noises, and busy shoppers is an important skill that Forest is building slowly in the third stage of his training with trips like this one.

After all that exploring, it looks like Forest was more than happy for a coffee shop pit stop alongside his volunteer trainer.

5. Jinx is off to the shops

Our clever boy is taking his first trip to the town centre in his training jacket.

It's all part of the third stage of hearing dog training where Jinx is beginning to explore the different public places he might visit with his future deaf partner.

He did a super job keeping his focus on his volunteer and wasn’t fazed by any of the new sights, sounds, or smells.

6. Marco knows the difference

Marco is in the final stages of his hearing dog training and has been practicing his alerts from the bed alongside his Dog Training Instructor, Rachel, as part of his soundwork training.

Normally, Marco would lead his trainer to the source of the sound for a daily alert like the alarm clock, doorbell, or cooker timer. However, when it comes to the danger alert, things are a bit different.

Marco immediately lies down when the smoke alarm goes off rather than lead his trainer towards a potentially hazardous situation.
