This month in training: August 2026

Our pups have been busy this month building their confidence and learning new skills. Amber has passed her Puppy 2 Star, Flynn is taking his new training jacket out for a spin, and Koko is smashing her soundwork.

1. Great news for Ginny

Gorgeous Ginny is off to be a life-changer after passing her final assessment to be a hearing dog!

From puppy class to soundwork training, and everything in between we're so proud of Ginny and all she’s learnt.

Congratulations Team Ginny!

2. Fantastic Flynn is heading out

In the third stage of his training, Flynn's exploring the different public places he might visit with his future deaf partner.

He did a super job keeping his focus and took everything in his stride. Keep it up Team Flynn!

3. A round of applause for Amber

Amazing Amber recently passed the second stage of her hearing dog training - the Puppy 2 Star.

Which means she's now the proud owner of her very own hearing dog jacket and will start exploring public places and take her very first trip on the bus.

Well done Team Amber!

4. Say hello to Fozzie

This eight-week-old cockapoo has settled into his new home and is getting ready to start the early stages of his hearing dog training.

This stage is all about Fozzie being a curious pup and exploring the world around him, making friends, and having as much fun as possible.

Good luck Fozzie!

5. Rex takes on the garden centre

Rex is racing his way through training and has taken a trip to the garden centre in his training jacket.

In the third stage of his training, Rex will start exploring different public places with his Volunteer Dog Trainer and build his confidence around new or unusual objects.

Garden centres are the perfect place for our younger dogs to visit as they're quiet environments with lots of interesting new sights and smells.

6. Koko is smashing her soundwork

In the final stages of her hearing dog training, Koko shows us exactly how she alerts to the smoke alarm.

Danger alerts, like the smoke alarm, are different to other alerts as Koko will nudge her Volunteer Dog Trainer and then drop into a ‘down’ position instead of leading them to the source of the sound when asked ‘What is it?’

Koko did a super job and as long as there are belly rubs involved, she’s one happy girl!
