Ben Fogle fronts our BBC Lifeline Appeal

Hearing Dogs has a BBC Lifeline Appeal airing on BBC One at 2.05pm on Sunday 24 May.

This 10-minute televised appeal will bring our work, and the stories of the people we support, to a national audience.

We’re incredibly proud to share that the appeal will be presented by Ben Fogle, award-winning broadcaster and Hearing Dogs Patron. Hearing Dogs is a charity close to Ben’s heart as his dad, Bruce Fogle, was one of our co-founders back in 1982 and remains closely involved in our work.

I’m extremely proud to be a Patron for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and as a result, I’ve seen how these extraordinary animals can transform lives, giving people independence and the chance to live well with hearing loss. Hearing Dogs is funded by donations and as you'll see in this appeal, the charity's work really is life changing. Your support will make a huge difference.

In our Lifeline Appeal, you’ll meet people whose lives have been transformed through hearing dogs and our emotional and practical support – stories of connection, companionship and confidence made possible through support like yours.

Lucy, who has hearing dog Wilbur, explains in the film: "His companionship has connected me to the world. I don’t feel alone anymore because I have Wilbur by my side, and that means everything to me."

For many people living with hearing loss, life can feel isolating and uncertain. Our appeal shows how, together, we can change that; helping people reconnect with the world around them and live with greater confidence and a real sense of companionship.

How to support the appeal

Please watch our BBC Lifeline Appeal on BBC One at 2.05pm on Sunday 24 May, or after this date watch on BBC iPlayer or on our page of the BBC Lifeline website.

Every donation to the appeal helps us reach more people who need support - funding hearing dog partnerships and our vital Hearing Link Services that transform lives.

Hearing Dogs is creating a future where everyone with hearing loss can live well. We believe every deaf person deserves to feel connected to the world, confident living their daily life and supported by a sense of community. With your help, we can make this happen.

Thank you.
