What is the Virtual Great British Dog Walk?

The Great British Dog Walk is back, and we have lots of sponsored walks taking place in beautiful locations across the UK. However, for people who don’t live near one of the walks, and who may not wish to travel, we have organised a ‘Virtual’ version that you can do anywhere, anytime.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Choose a walking route and distance that suits you – pretty country lanes, autumnal woodland, wide open spaces, whatever you like
  2. Choose your walking buddies – four-legged friends, friends and family, or even a solo challenge – whichever you choose, you'll be changing the lives of deaf people

  3. Pick a date between September and October (you can walk as many days as you like between those dates too)
  4. Get sponsored! No minimum sponsorship but if you raise £10 or more you will recieve a dog bandana. In addition, raise £50 or more and you'll receive an exclusive Great British Dog Walk mug and dog bandana or, if you raise £100 or more you'll receive free hearing dog puppy sponsorship and dog bandana!

When you sign up you will receive...

A free downloadable walker certificate, and a free activity pack (available for both children and adults)

Get sponsored!

The money you raise will transform deaf people's lives. Become a fundraising superstar and we'll send you a limited edition mug or puppy sponsorship to say thank you!

How you will help deaf people

Getting sponsored for your walk means more life-changing hearing dogs can be trained and more deaf people can be helped by our other personalised services.

We’ve seen a 30% increase in people coming to us for help over the last 2 years. By getting yourself or your dog sponsored you’ll be making a real difference to deaf people’s lives.

When you walk, you help people like Joanna…

Joanna Marshall 500x500

“Since having Marshall my life keeps getting better and better. His uniform indicates that I’m deaf and this gives me confidence. Whereas before, I would avoid talking to people, now I’m far less anxious about not understanding them so I no longer hide away in the shadows.”
– Joanna and Marshall

Please take part in the Great British Dog Walk and help more deaf people like Joanna to leave loneliness behind.
