The 2.6 Challenge

Welcome to the 2.6 challenge! Launching on the 26 April – the original date of the London Marathon – the 2.6 challenge aims to help charities, including Hearing Dogs, compensate for the cancellation of fundraising events because of the Coronavirus.

Simply dream up a challenge based on the number 2.6 or 26 – a 2.6 mile dog walk, a virtual quiz with 26 friends, a 26 minute sponsored silence – and start fundraising. And you can nominate a friend or family member to do the same!

You can also choose to donate £26 if you prefer.

What is the 2.6 challenge?

It's a simple and fun idea: take on a fundraising challenge based on the number 2.6 or 26 (to mirror the 26 miles of the London Marathon) or donate £26 or more. The 2.6 challenge aims to help charities replace the income lost due to the cancellation of mass-participation events such as marathons, dog walks and abseils.

Hearing Dogs will receive the money you raise and additional funds from a central 2.6 Challenge fundraising pot.

When does it take place?

The 2.6 challenge starts on Sunday 26 April – the date the London Marathon was scheduled to take place – and runs for one week.

Where can I do it?

You can do the challenge anywhere you like, outdoors or indoors. The only requirement is that your chosen activity must follow the Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing

How do I get involved?

Dream up an activity based on the number 2.6 or 26, then start fundraising or make a donation using the links below.
