A sponsored walk to transform deaf people’s lives
Hearing loss is rising. This invisible disability has devastating impacts on people’s safety and mental health. Take part in this 3km or 6km sponsored dog walk, and raise funds to train more incredible hearing dogs who alert to life-saving and important sounds and break down social barriers for deaf people.
Sign up today and you’ll receive a FREE dog bandana, and every penny you raise will help deaf people to leave loneliness behind and reconnect with life.
A return to Munden will offer you the chance to explore the grounds of Munden Manor gardens (not usually open to the public), and woods dating back 200 years.

Walk start time: Mass start at 11am. Registration from 10am-11:30am.
Who: Walk in a big group of walkers and dogs or with your family and friends.
Cost: Adults: £12 online (£15 on the day), Children (under 16): free
Distance: 3km (shorter route) or 6km (longer route).
Sponsorship: The money you raise through your Great British Dog Walk will help create more amazing hearing dog partnerships that transform deaf people’s lives. There is no minimum sponsorship amount and if you don’t feel you can raise sponsorship, then please consider making a donation when signing up or on the day.
Terrain: All routes will be on public footpaths or similar and will be grass, trail or stone track surfaces. Depending on weather there may be mud so appropriate footwear is important. There should not be any obstruction as any gates or crossings will be open but the routes will, unfortunately, NOT be wheelchair friendly.

What is The Great British Dog Walk?
The Great British Dog Walk is a series of sponsored walks to raise funds for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, taking place at stately homes and country parks across the UK. You can walk as part of a large group of other walkers and dogs or walk with just your friends and family.
About the event
In addition to the walk, there will be some additional activities that vary from venue to venue. The additional activities can include, but are not limited to, tombolas, raffles, have-a-go dog agility, cake sales and fun dog competitions. You’ll receive more information about what is happening at your walk venue via email a week or so before the event.
When should I arrive?
Registration opening times will be displayed on your ticket. Make sure you leave enough time to park up and get ready before your walk begins – especially if you are joining the group walk as these will depart at a set time during the morning.
Can I sign up on the day?
Yes! You can register when you arrive at your chosen event. The registration fee for adults on the day is £12 (children under 16 and dogs go free). Registration opens at 10am at your chosen venue.
What should I bring?
Please bring a water bottle for yourself and your dog if they’re joining you. Filled dog water bowls will be available around the registration area.
What should I wear?
Please make sure you wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions. Ensure you bring warm weather gear, layers and waterproofs even if it looks dry, just in case.
When do I get my dog bandana?
You can pick up your dog bandana(s) when you sign in at the registration tent on the day of the event.
What if I change my mind about the walk length I’ve chosen?
No problem, just let us know which walk length you’re wanting to do when you sign in at the registration tent on the day.
What facilities will there be?
In the registration area, there will be a registration and fundraising games tent and toilets. Nearby cafes will be signposted to.
Is there an age limit?
Anyone taking part under the age of 18 must be accompanied by someone over the age of 18.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, absolutely! Due to the number of people and dogs expected, we ask that dogs are always kept on a lead. Dog owners are responsible for their own dog at all times and are responsible for cleaning up after their dog.
Where can I park?
Parking is usually in the main car park at the venue. If this won’t be the case for your chosen venue, then you’ll receive parking instructions via email once you have booked your tickets.
Is the route signposted?
You’ll receive a downloadable map of your chosen walk ahead of the event via email. The walking routes are also signposted and the group walks are led by marshals.
How do I fundraise?
To fundraise online, set up your JustGiving page and share with your friends, family and colleagues. Donations on JustGiving are automatically received by Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
Or, you can download a paper sponsorship form and either bring your monies on the day of your event, or post a cheque along with the sponsor forms to:
