Spice: An energetic, adorable entertainer

Wherever she goes, Spice is the star of the show! This bright girl is full of beans and is a delight to have around. With her shiny jet-black coat and big puppy paws, Spice puts a smile on the face of everyone she meets. And one day, this loveable Labrador will transform a deaf person’s life.

Spice is quick to learn and loves figuring out what her trainers are asking her to do – so long as there’s treats on the cards! In fact, Spice is so clever that sometimes it feels like she’s the one teaching her trainers to give her treats, not the other way around…

Her excitement for life makes Jackie and George, her Volunteer Dog Trainers, laugh every day. George said, “Sometimes, she’ll try to give you both of her paws and end up rolling over backwards! It makes me laugh so much. Then, she puts her paws around my neck and licks all around my face so I can’t stop laughing again!”

With a show-stopping mix of cleverness and cheekiness, Spice is adored by all. We know she’ll bring so much light and laughter to the life of her future deaf partner.

Spice is taking very well to life as a trainee and loves trotting alongside her trainers on her daily walks. This is a promising start to her ‘heelwork’, where she’ll learn to always walk beside her trainer when she’s on her lead. At the moment, sociable Spice does get a little too excited when she meets a new person or dog. However, as she grows up, we’re sure she’ll learn to enjoy greeting new friends in a calmer way.
