Frankie: The fun and fluffy friend-maker
Frankie wants to be your friend! Whether you’re human, dog or even horse, this beautiful little boy has a nose ‘boop’ for everyone. With the biggest and fluffiest paws, he bounds up to potential pals and always wants to play. One day, his amazing friendship will change a deaf adult or child’s life.
Alongside the confidence (and cheekiness!) that you might expect from a Cocker Spaniel, Frankie is a focussed boy when he needs to be. Behind his bright white eyelashes is a pup who is keen to learn about the world. When discovering something new, Frankie pauses to take in the experience…all while his tail wags like a windscreen wiper!
It seems nothing fazes Frankie…except for snails! Sally, Frankie’s Volunteer Puppy Trainer, told us about his recent encounter: “He looked at it, then suddenly jumped backwards up in the air three times – he’d never come across a snail before!” Oh dear! Never mind Frankie, we’re sure you’ll soon be making mollusc friends, too!
After an excitement-packed day, this cuddly puppy falls soundly asleep, listening to soothing music on his favourite podcast. We’re sure he’s dreaming of all the fun he’ll have with his future deaf partner.
Frankie’s keenness to make friends means that he’s already formed brilliant bonds with his trainers. This trainer-dog bond is so important to a hearing dog’s reward-based training, especially when they begin to learn advanced skills like alerting to sounds. So, it’s wonderful that Frankie already has this! So far, he’s been learning his basic cues like ‘sit’ and ‘wait’ – we’re confident this lovely boy will pass through his training with flying colours.
Frankie is a sponsor pup. This means that very kind people are paying for this lucky puppy’s training, but unfortunately Frankie is no longer available to sponsor. However, the good news is that there are more fresh, new puppies that you can sponsor instead! Take a look below and pick your puppy!
