UNIQUE NEW RESTAURANT OPENING IN SAUNDERTON IN BUCKS

The Grange, opened by Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, will serve wholesome and delicious meals, drinks and snacks in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, nestled in the beautiful Chiltern Hills, with all profits supporting the charity’s life-changing work

A new restaurant, which mixes colourful and fresh cuisine with traditional British favourites, is opening in Saunderton, Buckinghamshire, at the home of national charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, on Saturday 26 May 2018.  To celebrate its opening there will be activities throughout summer half-term, between 26 May and Sunday 4June.

The Grange is a family-friendly, dog-friendly and highly accessible restaurant for those with deafness or hearing loss and those without. Nestled in the beautiful Chiltern Hills, the restaurant is spacious, bright, elegant yet relaxed, and has been designed with acoustics and accessibility in mind, with state of the art design to enhance customers’ listening experience while dining.

The restaurant will begin by serving food during the day, with plans to extend to early evening service later this summer and will offer a delicious and healthy menu of freshly prepared dishes prepared by a team of experienced chefs – from the unique to old favourites.

Visitors can drop in for breakfast, where dishes include granola, yoghurt and fruit breakfast bowls, ‘Posh Toast’ of grilled sourdough topped with a delicious choice of fillings, a full English breakfast, freshly grilled sweet or savoury waffles, or simply a freshly prepared bacon or sausage sandwich.

Lunch offers the choice of a range of delicious and nutritious salads with protein boosts, tasty paninis and sandwiches. For those who wish to enjoy something more substantial, a range of seasonal favourites are available, such as Cornish fish pie, West Country braised lamb shoulder, and a tempting vegetarian chilli, garlic and tomato linguini.

The Sparkling Afternoon Tea offers a taste of luxury – with or without Prosecco, or diners can opt for a light-bite, freshly roast coffee or mouth-watering cake.

The Grange has a host of child-friendly features, including our Little Pups menu and a milk-warming station for babies, making it the ideal destination for families.  Being the home of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, there is a warm welcome to four-legged friends inside the restaurant, with ample seating outside too. The Grange will perfectly suit parents on the school run, walkers and cyclists looking to refuel before or after a local countryside walk, local office workers heading out for lunch, as well as more mature visitors who wish to while away an afternoon in a beautiful setting.

The Grange features a gift shop where visitors will find a range of original gifts, and a dedicated Hearing Hub, run by Hearing Link, which offers useful products, information and advice for visitors on how to better manage their hearing. Every penny of profit from The Grange restaurant and gift shop supports Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’s life-changing work, helping people embrace life whatever their level of hearing.

During its opening week, until Sunday 4June, The Grange will host a range of activities including traditional garden games, face painting, hearing dog demonstrations, and dog training and grooming advice.

Michele Jennings, Chief Executive of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and Hearing Link, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer such a unique and welcoming new eating experience to local people and visitors to Buckinghamshire.

“Not only can visitors enjoy a superb and nourishing meal with us or buy an original gift from our gift shop, but The Grange gives us a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness about hearing loss and deafness, as well as the life-changing work of our charity.

“The Grange Restaurant and Gift Shop is an exciting venture and we hope the local community, and those from further afield, will support us by paying us a visit. Every penny of profit goes to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, providing us with an ongoing means of ensuring we can train more dogs to change the lives of deaf people.”

Regular opening times will be from Monday to Saturday, 9am to 4pm, and Sunday 10.30am to 4.30pm. Breakfast times are 9am to 11.30am, lunch is served 12pm to 2pm and Sunday lunch is served 12pm to 3pm.

Early evening openings on a Thursday and Friday are due to begin later this summer.
