Hearing Dogs
We will work with you to determine if having an assistance dog to help you practically and emotionally would suit your needs. Our hearing dogs are highly trained to assist children and adults with deafness or hearing loss, so contact us and together we can determine if this option is right for you.
Geraldine’s story
“My deafness meant that I had to leave a career I loved in the police service. My social life was affected greatly. I was afraid of getting into situations where I would mishear people and act or respond incorrectly, so I stayed at home, feeling lonely and slowly losing the confidence I used to have.
“Bella has dramatically changed my life and allowed me to reconnect with the world.
“Not only does she alert me to important sounds but now I don't have to tell people that I am deaf as they can see Bella's burgundy coat. I even have confidence to use public transport again, because people continually help me along the way. It’s overwhelming how kind people are now because I have Bella.”
We offer three types of dog partnership – fully accredited hearing dogs, sound support dogs, and confidence and companion dogs. You can find out more about the types of partnerships we offer here.
