Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a national charity based in Saunderton, that offers life changing independence to deaf people through the provision of specially trained hearing dogs.
We are now looking for someone to work at our Centre in Yorkshire to help maintain our buildings and grounds. You will ensure that our buildings are maintained to a neat and safe standard , undertaking general repairs and maintenance to the buildings as and when necessary. This could include decorating, light renovations, basic joinery, plumbing, glazing and electrics.
You will also be responsible for setting up meeting rooms and preparing the grounds for conferences, events and weekly tours. The job may also involve moving and disposing of large items of furniture and equipment from time to time.
In addition to the above, you will also be an ambassador for the charity as you support the transportation of visitors to and from the site.
Your role will involve working with and/or supervising maintenance volunteers who will assist with the up keep of the site.
The successful candidate will need to have experience of general building and grounds maintenance and an understanding of the associated health & safety requirements. . Flexibility, adaptability and pragmatism are key attributes.
