This month in training: July 2024

Posted by Matt Sadler

An exciting month for our pups filled with lots of 'firsts'. Zebedee went for a wander around the shops, Denzel adores his soundwork, and Orla has started her puppy classes.

1. Libby did a spot of trainspotting

Libby is in the second stage of her training and has visited the train station.

She did a wonderful job taking in all the unusual sights and sounds on the platform. Next stop for Libby? Getting ready for her first trip on the train.

2. Toby takes the bus

Terrific Toby recently started the third stage of his training, and he's already been on his first bus journey!

He's taken all the strange sounds and movements in his stride with a smile. It's important Toby feels relaxed as his future deaf partner might use public transport.

3. Orla started her puppy classes

Lovely Orla is in the first stage of her puppy training where she is being encouraged to play and explore.

She's been attending her puppy classes and shown herself to be a quick learner as she’s already perfected her 'sit'.

4. Well done, Zeus

Zeus has zipped through the second stage of his training and is now the very proud owner of a training burgundy jacket.

As he works towards passing his Puppy 3 Star, Zeus will start to visit busier public places and get to take his very first trip on public transport.

5. Denzel has some super news

Denzel has passed his assessment to be a sound support dog, and here he is having so much fun showing off his alerts!

You'll see Denzel alerting to the doorbell and alarm clock, and also to the smoke alarm. Here, he immediately lies down to indicate it's a danger sound.

6. A little wander around the shop for Zebedee!

Zebedee has taken his new training jacket out for the first time as part of the third stage of his training - the Puppy 3 Star.

You'll see Zebedee working on his 'sit' and 'down' in the shop before heading over to the cafe for a snooze and settle.
