"I am so proud to do this and to see what a difference it makes to someone's life"

Posted by Matt Sadler

From meeting her puppy, to classes, and even the very emotional goodbyes, Julie tells us what being a volunteer dog trainer is like and what made her want to do it.

We wouldn't be able to support the many partnerships that we do without the help and dedication of volunteers like Julie.

Become a volunteer dog trainer

Feeling inspired? Then join Julie as a volunteer trainer today and help change a deaf person's life.

Our hearing dogs are specially trained to alert deaf people to important sounds, like a smoke alarm or a baby's cry. They’re also companions. Their love and emotional support helps many deaf people feel less isolated and alone.

A hearing dog can be a life-changing addition, but we can’t do it without our amazing volunteers. Could you help us train our young dogs and help deaf people leave loneliness behind?
