Hearing dogs are trained to alert deaf people to a number of different household sounds and danger signals. During a dog's sound work training our experienced staff match the dog to a suitable recipient, taking into account consideration of the dog's confidence, temperament and charateristics along side that of the potential recipient's lifestyle and other factors. Once the hearing dog in training has been matched to a suitable potential recipient, our training staff are then able to train the dog to the specific range of sounds and signals required by that individual
The range of sounds and signals a hearing dog can be trained to are:
Doorbell
Telephone
Cooker timer
Alarm clock
Baby cry monitor
Mobile phone - ring and text
Smoke alarm
Fire siren (when out in public places or at work)
Call - someone else in the home can send the dog to tell you they need you.
