Volunteering

volunteers change livesVolunteers change lives…you will make a real difference if you join our team of volunteers.

Time is precious

As a registered charity, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is totally funded by public donations. By donating your time you add value to these donations, so volunteers enable us to offer even more deaf people the chance to enjoy the assistance and companionship of one of our specially trained dogs.

The value

As a volunteer you will be making a valuable contribution to the partnerships between deaf people and hearing dogs.

What this means for deaf people

Our vision is to offer deaf people companionship for an independent life. However, what this means to the individual is as unique as they are - words sometimes aren't enough to explain the true value of such partnerships.

What this means for dogs

The added appeal of volunteering for Hearing Dogs is knowing you are also enabling many hundreds of unwanted dogs to have a happy and rewarding future. Finding suitable dogs in rescue centres continues to be one of our priorities. Most hearing dogs are discovered by one of our dog assessment teams who are in regular contact with rescue and re-homing centres throughout the UK.
