Social by name, social by nature!

Our Volunteer Puppy Socialisers meet up fortnightly in small groups for puppy classes, but the annual Puppy Socialisers’ Conference is the opportunity for everyone to get together en masse to exchange stories, hear more about the Charity and generally have a nice day out with their puppies!

Above are some photos from our recent Conference at The Grange, in Saunderton, where the weather was kind enough to allow a sociable walk in the woods before a delicious home-made soup lunch. There was also the opportunity for our puppy socialisers to meet hearing dog recipients Sally Jeffries, with Cocker Spaniel x Poodle Fudge, and Carol Ann Smith, with Labrador Marly. They were truly honoured to meet the people who help our puppies en route to their lives as life-changing hearing dogs

The puppies had a great day too – some of them catching up with their siblings, others making new four-legged friends and all of them being great ambassadors for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People with their nice natures and good behaviour.

Get togethers like the Conference take place up and down the country and we are always keen to hear from people interested in getting involved. Puppy Socialising is focussed on the invaluable early stages of hearing dog training, and Volunteer Puppy Socialisers dedicate their time and kindness in taking one of our young pups into their home to help socialise and train them towards becoming a hearing dog of the future.
