About The Awards

Every year we ask our recipients to nominate their special companion for a Hearing Dog of the Year Award. But this year, for the first-time ever, we are opening it up to great British public to nominate hearing dogs that they know for one of the inspirational awards!!!

There are three award categories; Life-changing, Heroic and Team/Dual-purpose Hearing Dog of the Year.

A panel of celebrity judges has the almost impossible job of deciding on the winners and runners-up from nominations received. The awards are then presented at a star-studded event, giving the opportunity to celebrate the amazing dogs that are such wonderful ambassadors for the Charity.

If you have an extraordinary partnership with your hearing dog, or you know somebody whose life has been transformed by a hearing dog, select the category you would like to enter them for and complete the nomination form below.

Life-Changing Category:

• For hearing dogs that have completely transformed the lives of their recipients, bringing independence, confidence, security and companionship

Heroic Category:

• For hearing dogs that have gone above and beyond the call of duty and potentially saved someone’s life or averted a dangerous situation

Team/Dual Purpose Category:

• For specially trained Team hearing dogs placed with deaf children within hearing families and Dual-purpose hearing dogs that are trained to perform the dual role of another assistance dog to meet the needs of people with additional disabilities – such as a dual hearing-guide dog for a deaf-blind person.

*Please note, from 2011 the Rescue category has been replaced by the Team/Dual-purpose hearing dog category. Closing date for nominations is Friday 22 July 2011.
