Rayovac doubles original fundraising target

Rayovac doubles original fundraising target with £10,000 donation to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People

Rayovac logoRayovac, the manufacturer of the World's No.1 selling hearing aid battery, has doubled its original fundraising target of £5,000 with a donation of £10,000 to UK charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People – the world-leader in training dogs to alert deaf people to important household sounds and danger signals, providing a life-changing level of independence, confidence and security.

The corporate partnership between Rayovac and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People was established in 2008 and money was raised through the donation of a percentage of sales from the company’s Proline Batteries range and employee fundraising activities.

Allegra Scott, Head of Fundraising for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, says: “Having the support of an organisation like Rayovac is hugely beneficial and vitally important. The Charity has created over 1,600 partnerships between severely or profoundly deaf people and hearing dogs since its inception in 1982, and we currently have around 750 working hearing dogs in the UK. As we receive no Government funding, we rely on donations from our corporate partners to enable us to train more hearing dogs and change the lives of many more people with severe or profound hearing loss throughout the UK.”

Paula Brinson Pyke, marketing manager at Rayovac, said: “Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a fantastic organisation and we’re delighted to have it as one of our chosen charities.

To support a life-changing hearing dog partnership costs £10,000, so to reach this amount is a major milestone for our partnership with the Charity. We look forward to working with Hearing Dogs for many years to come.”
