Christmas Bazaar raises over £7,000
More than 600 hundred people flocked to this year’s Hearing Dogs for Deaf People Christmas bazaar at the Charity’s headquarters in Saunderton on Saturday 20 November. Mr & Mrs Christmas were the main attraction at the ever increasingly popular event, and welcomed children and adults alike to their Christmas Grotto helped by a special Christmas Elf all the way from Lapland (well High Wycombe actually).
Staff and Hearing Dog volunteers signed Christmas carols in Bristish Sign Language while shoppers enjoyed delicious mince pies and mulled wine. There were over 30 stall holders selling a selection of wonderful gifts. The beautifully decorated kennels added to the Christmassy atmosphere which encouraged people pop in and find out more about the important work of Hearing Dogs; from the Charity’s puppy breeding scheme to the life-changing independence and confidence a hearing dog provides to a deaf person.
The Charity’s shop, filled with Hearing Dogs’ merchandise and a wide range of stationery and gifts stocking fillers, made record sales this year which contributed to the impressive total of £7,500 raised by the event overall. The on-site shop is open from 9 – 5pm Monday to Friday.
