Womble

Womble is a mongrel that was only two months old when she was rescued in the Republic of Ireland and selected by Hearing Dogs.  She had eight months living with one of the Charity’s socialisers before she came under the wing of trainer Louise Smith.

Louise says: “I have only had Womble a short time but already I can see that she is quite cheeky!  Her socialiser said that one of her favourite things to do was to carry a shoe around, if she got the chance!  She is a complete mixture of breeds: she is hairy and the size of a small Labrador.  Womble absolutely loves water – in fact, she frequently jumps in the trough that we have in one of the fields!  She is very friendly to everyone, and really enthusiastic about her soundwork.  She is responding well already to the sounds, but needs a little bit of confidence to actually lead me to the sounds.  However, I’m sure this will come as time goes on.”

Let’s hope we can find a recipient for Womble who lives near Wimbledon Common!
