Fundraiser of the month

May 2009

Congratulations to Maureen Castle and Martin King from Axminster in Devon who have been named as our Fundraisers of the Month for May 2009.

Maureen and Andrew, who describe themselves as mature OAPs, have just completed one of the UK's toughest challenges - the notorious Three Peaks Challenge involving a tight schedule lasting 36 hours, a night ascent of Snowdon in thick mist and high winds, a day ascent of Scafell Pike, followed by a night ascent of Ben Nevis. "On reflection we are amazed and absolutely delighted with what we have achieved. Six months of training had seen us well prepared for the challenge. I'd done nothing like this before although Martin had done the London Marathon almost 30 years ago. We would thoroughly encourage anoyone to take up the Challenge, whatever your age. It was certainly though but a thoroughly wonderful experience."

The pair have raised over £1,900 for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
