Fundraiser of the month

The Fundraiser of the Month award for May goes to chocolate Labrador Molly and owner Linda Buckland from Wiltshire. 

Molly and Linda took part in the Cani-Cross 5km run at Bracknell Forest on Sunday 26 March – raising £250 for Hearing Dogs.

Linda says: “Molly and I had a wonderful day out and to top it all, we came in at 3rd place in the ladies 40+ group in a time of 32 minutes!

“It was quite a challenging course through the forest; running up one really steep hill; avoiding all the muddy puddles and keeping a lookout for all the markers to ensure we were on the right track (there was no-one to follow as each competitor set off at one minute intervals).

“We just missed out on first place by one minute - this was due to my little Molly taking two doggy pit stops to relieve herself!  But 3rd place is not bad for first-timers!  Molly won a great prize of doggy treats so she was one happy dog at the end of the day – and I was delighted to have completed the course and to have raised £250 for such a worthwhile cause!
 
“The whole event was a success; it such good fun and we shall certainly be taking part in future races that are being held round the country. It's a great event to promote Hearing Dogs, as there are so many dog-friendly people around.”
