I’ve been involved with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People since the Charity began in 1982, and have seen it grow from strength to strength over the years into the world-class organisation it is today. Since it began, the Charity has created an incredible 1,600 partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf people – partnerships which have transformed lives by providing a life-changing level of independence, confidence and security.
The challenge now is to ensure that the Charity can continue to grow to meet the ever-increasing demand for more hearing dogs, and to reduce the time recipients need to wait for a new or replacement dog. That means focussing attention on the hearing dogs of the future and securing the funds to train more pups year on year.
