One in six people in the UK suffer from hearing loss and, unfortunately, the numbers are growing.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is the only UK charity to train and provide special dogs to support severely and profoundly deaf people. With no government funding we look to gifts in Wills to fund half of all our work.
A hearing dog makes an immeasurable difference to the life of its deaf recipient. By alerting them to everyday sounds and danger signals in the home, workplace and public places, hearing dogs can offering a deaf person a life-changing level of independence, confidence and security – as well as valuable companionship.

Meet Jason and Violet
Since we partnered 11 year old Jason with ‘team’ hearing dog Violet, he has been able to close his bedroom door and turn off the light at night – just like his friends.
It’s likely that Jason will require several more hearing dogs in his lifetime. Gifts in Wills enable us to make a commitment to people like Jason to give them the security and companionship they need – for life.
We want everyone who could benefit from a hearing dog to have the opportunity of that life-changing partnership.
So far, we have trained and placed over 1600 dogs, and demand is growing all the time.
Training a hearing dog, matching it with the needs of a deaf person and supporting a partnership throughout its working life takes time, expertise and money. Once you’ve taken care of family and friends, please consider leaving a gift to Hearing Dogs in your will, and help us to form many more life-changing partnerships well into the future.
