Capital appeals for future growth

New site for northern training centre
Brand new training centre in Scotland

As Hearing Dogs nears the end of its 25th anniversary year more deaf people than ever would like to benefit from the companionship and security a hearing dog brings, enabling them to lead an independent life with confidence.

Of the nine million adults in the UK with a hearing loss, we know that more than half a million are severely or profoundly deaf and therefore eligible for a hearing dog.

We’re working hard to reduce our two-year waiting list and have trained more dogs this year than ever before – but to meet demand we need to expand.

New site for northern training centre

ground planAfter 12 years, we have finally outgrown our current northern centre in Cliffe, near Selby in north Yorkshire.  Having built up a strong network of supporters and public affinity in the locality, we are very pleased to be able to stay in this area.  We have planning permission to develop a site in Bielby, North Yorkshire and have launched a capital appeal to raise the £2.5 million required to finance the development.

At present we are seeking Trust funding for this project through the hard work of our dedicated appeal committee.  Please feel free to download the pdf to find out more. We are now asking for donations from the general public. Can you help us complete this essential building project and help train us more dogs for deaf people.

Brand new satellite centre in Scotland

scottish appealAs interest in and demand for our dogs rises north of the border, we are keen to create a brand new satellite centre to serve our clients in Scotland.  This is a longer-term project – but watch this space for more news.
