Wherever you live in the United Kingdom you are never very far away from a volunteer working on behalf of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. We have a network of trained and equipped Registered Speakers in most locations, from the Channel Islands to the Highlands and from Northern Ireland to the Fens, who would love to come and talk to your school, group or association about our work.
What are the talks about?
Our talks normally last for around 45 minutes, which includes a slide presentation and time for questions and answers, but we are happy to tailor the talk specifically for your group age and size and to fit the time slot you have available. Please note that although we try and bring a working dog to our talks, we cannot guarantee that this will always be possible.
How much does it cost?
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People does not charge a set fee for talks, but we would request a donation and speaker travel expenses.
How to request a speaker
To request a speaker email speaker@hearingdogs.org.uk or telephone 01844 348100 (voice and minicom). Your request will be passed to our local representative who will be in touch within 10 working days to make the arrangements. Your email should include the following information:
- Name of group
- Location of meeting
- Date and time of talk
- Approximate audience number
- Age group
- Your name
- Phone number and/or email address
- Any special needs or things we should know
We look forward to visiting you and sharing our passion for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and how we change lives.
